copsI’m a huge fan of the reality show, Cops, and rather than walk the streets of New York in the 95′F heat taking photos, I decided to stay indoors and watch some mindless television.

I’m sat here watching the 3:30pm episode on G4, and there’s an incident involving the Mexican/American border, a bridge, and an altercation between two rivals gangs. Anyway, some fighting and pistol whipping ensues, and some Mexican kids are arrested and placed in the back of various squad cars. One of the arresting officers approaches a witness and the conversation goes as follows:

Cop: “did you see what happened here?”

Witness: “yeah man, these guys over on the bridge came bustin’ through a line of girls that was with us, one pulled out a gun.”

Cop: “can you describe the individual with the gun?”

Witness: “yeah man, this guy was tall, real tall.”

Cop: “how tall would you say this individual was.”

Witness: “man he was like five eight, five nine.”

You couldn’t make this shit up if you tried.

This is one of the cutest “bad dog” movies I’ve seen in a long time - I love Otto’s little face, he knows he’s been a bad little boy.  Classic.

bottom is tops

Adrian Edmondson, funny, rik mayall, tv No Comments »

One of the best things to come out of the 90’s was when Margaret Thatcher resigned as the leader of the Conservative Party (1990). The other thing was the television show Bottom. The show was centered around 2 hapless and lovingly retarded characters: Richard “Richie” Rich, and Edward “Eddie” Elizabeth Hitler - two flat mates played by friends Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson - creators of the 1980’s hit The Young Ones.

Why am I writing about Bottom? Well, I just picked up the entire three-series box set on DVD. My favorite episode has to be Culture - the one where they play chess with the Spiderman figure - hilarious.

What’s better - working hard, or watching a fricking lemur slowly open its eyes to dramatic music?

I live for this kind of stuff.

Not sure what show this is, or even who these two guys are, but it gave me a good old belly laugh.

fish so freshTook this whilst on vacation in Spring Lake, NJ. According to the sign, if you want your fish fresh, head on over to Mr. Shrimp on route 71 just north of Spring Lake. Nothing like a good old slapped haddock.

This has been flying around the internet faster than a case of herpes in Brooklyn - a classic scene from the animated X-Men series, lovingly, and hilariously, dubbed over for our viewing pleasure…I could watch this over and over… “I’m the Juggernaut bitch!”.

Class.

I never thought Scottie’s words would ring so true as they do today… “I think she’s gonna blow Cap’n!”.

Actor George Takei, best known as Mr. Sulu on the classic TV series Star Trek comes out of the closet in an interview with Frontiers. Takei comments:

“Brad’s my partner, we’ve been together for 18 years,” Takei tells Frontiers. “I’ve been “open”, but I have not talked to the press.”

The article continues:

Takei was attracted to boys from a young age, and quickly discerned that this wasn’t “normal”.

I wonder if Spock was aware of this whist they crawled through the ship’s conduits together late at night.Cream me up, Scottie

useless and original… divine

with some spare time on my hands today [it's the day before labor day, a major american holiday, so it's relatively quiet], I decided to venture on a wee net surf. I checked out my usual haunts… fugly, fark, gametrailers blah. it was when I took another look at shakeskin.com that I had a revelation.

a good website is good due to its content. but a great website, adorns itself with originality. shakeskin.com is completely ridiculous, but is lavished by a level of originality that is seldom matched. the site’s “mojo” is simple, and two fold - shake your head vigorously from left to right, and have someone take a photo of you, mid-shake. or if you’re like me and you border on migraines with any severe head movement, then the “prrr” could be your weapon of choice. as explained in the site’s FAQ section, “to Prrr you hold your lips together and say ‘prrrr’, just like a horse on a sweet summer day.”

I’ll probably go for the ‘prrr’ this weekend and submit my own - and if I’m lucky enough to be posted on their site, there will indeed be appropriate linkage to my deformed mug.

not likely, but to those who know him well, I’m sure they would agree that Ze Frank has an adept ability to put smiles on faces across cyberspace.

I have been a regular visitor of Ze’s site for a little over 2 years, when a co-worker e-mailed me the link to his dance properly page. From thereon, Ze’s site went from a “who?” to “what!” in mere weeks due to his comic mastery.

apparently he’s a brooklyn boy also, and I think I spotted him on the F train last week coming home - normal looking guy, that is until he switches on his video camera at home. you can visit his site by following this link.

one funny bastard - and there I was thinking joel veitch of rathergood.com was a genius!
