I often rent a zip car at the weekend to drive up to Westchester to visit S, and this weekend was like all the others… that was until today when we found a tiny 1″ square ziploc bag, translucent red, with white powder residue still in it. The bag was lodged down the right hand side of the driver’s seat between the console - S spotted it when we were filling up with gas.
Wondering what to do, I figured I’d call Zipcar and let them know what I found, and glean some professional advice. The CSR that answered was a chap called Nailor (sp?), a friendly bloke. There was a long silence when I explained to him that what I believe I found was a used bag of cocaine, or worse still, heroin. He put me on hold for what seemed like 5 minutes (it’s a long time when you’re subject to the same hold music for that amount of time), and returned to advise me that I should simply dispose of said “baggie”, as god forbid I get pulled over and the cops decide to conduct a search of the vehicle.
I took that advice. I didn’t fancy gambling with the chance of spending the night in jail waiting for my arraignment on possession of a controlled substance.
